Software Development Researcher

The Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CCAM) is seeking a Software Development Researcher to work on collaborative teams with industry technical leaders, academic experts, and world-class researchers to develop and implement solutions for real-world challenges in advanced manufacturing.

Software Development Researcher

  • Strong general programming skills: object oriented programming, data structures and algorithms, NLP, graph parsing and search techniques
  • Solid background in coding utilizing different platforms and current software paradigms & techniques
  • Proficient in C/C++, C#, Java, Python, and HTML
  • Familiar with front- and back-end webserver development, including node.js, PHP, Perl, Ruby, and Java Script
  • Good understanding and use of data formats, such as JSON and XML
  • Produces detailed software specifications and documentation
  • Familiar with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Experience converting complicated mathematical formulas and algorithms (incl. algebra, trigonometry, linear algebra, calculus, etc.) into functional code

In this role you will help discover technology breakthroughs and developments that can influence global manufacturing. Researchers perform in a dynamic, collaborative environment with cross-functional teams, and work with research managers and customers to develop, define, and execute research programs. Researchers are expected to provide training to technicians, interns, and visiting researchers from industrial and academic partners.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Qualified candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance within 24 months of employment.
