Additive Manufacturing Researcher

The Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CCAM) is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Researcher to work on collaborative teams with industry technical leaders, academic experts, and world-class researchers to develop and implement solutions for real-world challenges in advanced manufacturing.

Additive Manufacturing Researcher

  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Sciences, Physics or related fields. PhD degree preferred.
  • Experience in the research and development of additive manufacturing processes, knowledge of process control and process optimization.
  • Hands-on lab experience.
  • Experience in experimental research (DOE, data analytics, process modeling, etc.)
  • Ability to interface and collaborate with University’s and/or industry in research activities
  • Experience with in-situ process monitoring, sensors, and non-destructive testing. CT Scanning experience desirable.

In this role you will help discover technology breakthroughs and developments that can influence global manufacturing. Researchers perform in a dynamic, collaborative environment with cross-functional teams, and work with research managers and customers to develop, define, and execute research programs. Researchers are expected to provide training to technicians, interns, and visiting researchers from industrial and academic partners.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Qualified candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance within 24 months of employment.
